FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Who can sign up for groceries?
If you or a household member is at risk (60+ or immunocompromised) or a healthcare worker, you can qualify for grocery delivery! Email us at FeedmontCA@gmail.com or call us at (510) 545-6845 if you have any questions.
Q: Who can volunteer?
If you are at low risk of infection and your household is all healthy, please volunteer! Please DO NOT volunteer if you or a household member are experiencing any indications of being sick in any way, have chronic health conditions (including chronic lung disease, heart disease, diabetes, cancer), or have a weakened immune system.
Q: Are volunteers paid upfront or reimbursed afterwards?
Volunteers are reimbursed afterwards, via a check/cash in an envelope left outside their house or via Venmo. More details below.
Q: How does grocery reimbursement work?
After the volunteers have purchased the groceries, we encourage them to send a photo of the receipt to their match. When the at-risk individual receives the total cost, they can then leave a check/cash in an envelope on their porch (or wherever the groceries will be dropped off) or via Venmo. When the volunteer arrives at their match's house to drop off the groceries, they will be reimbursed.
Q: Isn't this what Instacart/AmazonFresh/DoorDash/Safeway Delivery is for?
Unlike Instacart/AmazonFresh/DoorDash/Safeway Delivery, Feedmont is not a for-profit delivery service. Feedmont is a platform that connects neighbors with neighbors, in order to help community members who are immunocompromised or otherwise in need––at no additional cost.
